World’s First 5.5G Network Launches by Huawei – Intelligent Core Network, Advancing Towards an Intelligent World

Huawei Launch:

At the MWC 2024, Huawei conducted a product solution launch event of “World’s First 5.5G Network”. George Gao, the President of Huawei Cloud Core Network Product Line, spearheaded the release of the 5.5G intelligent core network solution. This marks 2024 as the inaugural year for the commercial rollout of 5.5G technology. The 5.5G intelligent core network, a pivotal component of 5.5G, integrates service intelligence, network intelligence, and O&M intelligence. The advent of 5.5G technology promises enhancements in business value and developmental prospects.

Intelligence Expands:

In 2023, New Calling was commercially deployed, catering to a vast clientele of 50 million subscribers spread across 31 provinces in China. Its efficacy has undergone rigorous validation in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific regions. Scheduled for commercialization in these areas in 2024, New Calling stands as a testament to its global reach and reliability.

According to George, Huawei’s pioneering New Calling-Advanced solution signifies a leap forward in intelligence and data-driven interaction capabilities within the industry. This advancement propels us into a multi-modal communication epoch and aids operators in reshaping their service infrastructure. Furthermore, Huawei unveiled the Multi-modal Communication Function (MCF), enabling users to command digital avatars via voice while engaged in calls, thereby enhancing the individualized calling encounter. Moreover, enterprises have the liberty to tailor their avatars as corporate ambassadors, thereby bolstering their brand promotion efforts.

Intelligence Enables:

Over an extended duration “World’s First 5.5G Network”, operators have endeavored to actualize traffic monetization on MBB networks. Nonetheless, they face three significant technical deficiencies: the inability to assess user experience. Absence of dynamic optimization, and lack of closed-loop operations. In response to these challenges, Huawei has introduced the pioneering Intelligent Personalized Experience (IPE) solution. The primary objective of this solution is to assist operators in incorporating experience privileges into service packages. Also thereby facilitating enhanced monetization of divergent user experiences.

Within the industry, the user plane in the core network conventionally manages and directs individual service flows utilizing a single vCPU. However, with the proliferation of high-traffic services like 2K or 4K HD video streaming and live broadcasts. Also instances of microbursts and elephant flows have become increasingly prevalent. Consequently, there’s a heightened risk of vCPU overload, leading to packet loss. To combat this challenge, Huawei has unveiled the Intelligent UDG. As elucidated by George, this represents the industry’s inaugural Intelligent UDG product, engineered to furnish ubiquitous 10 Gbps superior experiences.

Intelligence Achieves:

Leveraging the multi-modal large model, the Digital Assistant & Digital Expert (DAE) system significantly reduces the operational and maintenance (O&M) workload while enhancing O&M efficiency. It revolutionizes cloud-based O&M practices from a paradigm of “experts+tools” to an intelligence-driven model centered around “DAE+manual assistance”. With DAE, an impressive 80% of trouble tickets can be autonomously processed. Also a stark improvement over the erstwhile 100% manual handling. Furthermore, DAE facilitates intent-driven O&M, circumventing the need for manual decision-making. Previously, the cultivation of domain experts typically spanned over five years. However, the multi-modal large model now undergoes training and updates within a matter of weeks. Also exemplifying its remarkable agility and adaptability.

The forthcoming MWC Barcelona 2024 is scheduled to take place from February 26th to February 29th in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei is poised to exhibit its cutting-edge products and solutions at stand 1H50 located in the Fira Gran Via Hall 1 during the event.

In tandem with the 2024 commercial rollout of 5.5G, Huawei is forging collaborative partnerships with operators and stakeholders globally to embark on groundbreaking innovations in networks, cloud infrastructure, and intelligence systems. Our collective efforts will propel 5G enterprise endeavors and cultivate a robust industry ecosystem. Heralding the dawn of a new era in intelligent digital transformation.
